Turtle Observation Tour
-by night

USD 50

If visiting Tamarindo between November and April you will have an unique opportunity to observe the Green Pacific turtle and Olive Ridley turtle come up on the beach to nest.

The tour will start in Tamarindo where you will be picked up by the guide who will then take you to a protected beach around 40 minutes from Tamarindo, north of Playa Grande. Depending on which beach you end up going to you might need to walk for a bit to get to where the turtles are, which is why closed toe shoes are recommended.

You will have the opportunity to observe parts of or the whole process of nesting. Depending on the day you might also get to see baby turtles hatch. Keep in mind that the tour takes place in nature and there is no guarantee of what you might get to observe. However between mid November and and of April the chances of getting to see the turtles are very high.

It is not allowed to take photos with flash or use a flashlight. The guide will provide a special red light. The tour takes place in the dark.
